Mary Little

Funeral services for Mary Avalos Little are scheduled for Thursday, December 16, 2021 at 10 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Grange with interment to follow at Brookside Memorial Park Cemetery in Houston December 17, 2021 at 1 PM.  Visitation is scheduled for Wednesday, December 15, 2021 from 4-6PM at the Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange, with rosary at 6PM.

Mary was born on February 2, 1928 in Eldrige, Texas to Domingo and Roberta Avaloz. She was very active in her church, St. Pius V Catholic Church in Pasadena, Texas. She was a passionate registered nurse for 43 years and loved to help friends and family with chores such as grocery shopping and doctor’s appointments.  Mary loved nature including car rides of the country sides to the gulf coast where she reminisced of the white sands of Galveston Island and ocean camping by bonfires.  She liked to pick pecans and even out picked her granddaughter, Tonia.  Mary was very loved and will be missed by many.

Mary is survived by her son, Santos Little and wife Karin Hamilton Little of La Grange; grandchildren, Christy (Elton) McMillan, Michael (Kasey) Little, Robert (Rachel) Sanchez, and Julia (Jesse) Garcia; great grandchildren, Eltyana McMillan, Elexis Morrison, Ethen Little, Kaori Little, Atlee Little, Brendon Hall, Brianna Garza, Anthony Garza, Julyssa Sanchez, Isaiah Scalise, Destinay Scalise and numerous other grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, CD Little; one son and daughter-in-law, Tony and Judy Garcia; and two granddaughters, Stacey Renee Little Hall and Tonia Hamilton Little.

In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations be made to the charity of one’s choice.
