A Mass of Christian Burial for Agnes Antonio Divin, 86, of La Grange, Texas is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June24, 2022 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Ellinger, Texas. Interment will follow at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery also in Ellinger. Visitation will be held from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m., with a Rosary being recited at 7:00 p.m., Friday, June 24, 2022 at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange, Texas. Mrs. Divin passed away at her home in La Grange on June 17, 2022.
Agnes was born July 23, 1935 to Joe F. Urban and Lillian J. (Svrcek) Urban in La Grange, Texas. She married Charlie M. Divin, Jr., June 15, 1954.
Agnes was a woman of strong faith. She loved working in her yard and flower beds, and was an amazing and generous baker. Her oatmeal cookies were considered the best by everyone. She loved playing Bingo and traveling.
Agnes is survived by sons and daughters-in-law, Patrick & Sharon Divin, of Katy, and David & Nina Divin of Pearland; daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly & Mike Baca of Brenham, Michele Frnka, of Rosenberg, and Kathy and Richard Nedelkoff, of Amarillo; brother and sister-in-law, Mike & Betty Urban, of La Grange; sister and brother-in-law, Virginia & Nolan Meinardus, of La Grange; sister-in-law, Linda Urban of La Grange; 11 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren and two on the way; and numerous other family, friends and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Lillian; her husband, Charlie; son, Randy R. Divin and brothers, Joe Urban, Robert & wife Susie Urban, and Tom Urban.
