William Travis Anderson

April 10, 1963 — June 5, 2025

La Grange, Texas

A Celebration of Life for William Travis Anderson, AKA "Grumpy Cat", 62, of La Grange, Texas, will be held from 3:00 to 5:00, Saturday, August 16, 2025, at the Knights of Columbus Hall, 190 Brown St, in La Grange, Texas, followed by a fund raiser and a meal in his honor. Travis made his "End of Watch Call" on June 5, 2025, at his home in La Grange, Texas.

Travis was born April 10, 1963, to Billy Anderson and Barbara (Harris) Anderson in Houston, Texas.

Travis was a bit of a work junkie. He began his career as a police officer with the Houston Police Department in August of 1982 and retired from that post in April in 2005. They then moved to La Grange, and he went to work at the La Grange Police Department in December of 2005. He then retired in June of 2022 from the La Grange PD but stayed part-time. He then started back full-time in January 2023. Then he retired in May of 2025 for the last time due to his illness.

Travis and Cindy are both huge lovers of animals, but especially of dogs. When Cindy was a police dispatcher for the Sheriff's department, Cindy made sure, when possible, to send Travis on all the "animal" related calls that came across her radio, because she knew that he would go the extra mile to make sure they were taken care of, even if it meant bringing them home and adopting them eventually.

It took some doing, but in 2023 Cindy was finally able to convince Travis to go on a cruise to Cozumel. After that he was "hooked" on cruising. They also enjoyed the occasional trip to San Antonio just to spend some time chilling on the Riverwalk.

Travis leaves behind his wife, Cindy (Wesley) Anderson; fur babies, Tito and Zsa Zsa; stepdaughters, Misty Cunningham of Magnolia, and Courtney Cunningham & partner Spencer Sanford of Spring; sister, Jackie Anderson of Humble; and grandchildren Amber, Wyatt, Natalie and Kalani, along with numerous other family and many loving friends.

Travis was preceded in death by his parents, Billy and Barbara Anderson.

The family would greatly appreciate memorials made in Travis's name to Gardenia Janssen Animal Shelter, 240 Svoboda Lane, La Grange, Texas.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange, Texas. Share your thoughts and fond memories online at www.fayettememorialfuneralhome.com
