William Joseph Coufal, 84 of La Grange, lost his battle with esophageal cancer on April l3, 2026. He was born on April 13,1942. He passed away peacefully at his home on his 84th birthday.
William was a proud Sergeant in the United States Army, a talented carpenter and an avid fisherman. He mostly loved spending time with his grandchildren. William was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and brother and will be missed dearly by those that knew him.
William is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Mary Ann (Vasek) Coufal, daughter, Jennifer (Coufal) Rollins, two grandchildren, Chestin Rollins and Bailee Coufal, sister Linda Lawson and her husband Rev Lawson, sister-in-law Gladys Schwartz of Brenham and brother-in-law Larry Vasek of Fayetteville.
He is preceded in death by his father Willie Coufal Jr and his mother Lillian (Poncik) Coufal, one sister Marian Branam, and three brothers Daniel Coufal, Thomas Coufal and Leonard Coufal.
William requested no funeral or memorial service but will be honored and remembered lovingly by family and friends.
