Sylvester Sivek

A Funeral Mass for Sylvester Bernard Sivek, 101, of La Grange will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Grange, Texas. Interment will follow in La Grange City Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until 7:00 p.m. Monday, February 26, 2018 in the Fayette Memorial Funeral Home Chapel with the family present from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.

Sylvester was born June 19, 1916 in Wallis, Texas to Teresa Pisklak Sivek and Joseph Sivek. He married Helen Elizabeth Larson in Ft. Worth, Texas in 1939, and they celebrated 73 years of marriage before she preceded him in death on December 12, 2012. Sylvester was a farmer and a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Grange.

Sylvester is survived by 2 sons; Charles Edward Sivek, and his wife Betty of Harlingen, Texas and Billy James Sivek, and his wife Diane of Fayetteville. 1 sister; Hattie Bessie Alexander of Harlingen, 6 grandchildren; Charles Sivek Jr. and his wife, Lilla of Round Top, Lisa Marie Guererro, and her husband Jaime, of Harlinen, Tara Schomburg and her husband, Chuck of La Grange, Amy Bertsch and her husband, Loren of, West Point, Carin Absnaider and her husband Cameron of Lincoln, and Denise Falls and her husband David of La Porte. 2 step-grandchildren Tracy Shrader and her husband, Bo of La Grange and Thomas Poncik and his wife, Brittany of Houston. 8 great grandchildren and numerous other nieces, nephews, family and friends

Sylvester was preceded in death by; his parents, his wife, 1 son, Robert Lee Sivek, 4 brothers, and 1 sister.

Family suggests memorials to the Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
