Susan Jane Tompkins, age 62, of Brenham passed away on May 21, 2009 at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Bryan. She was born on January 1, 1947 to parents, Charles and Betty (Mills) Gatewood of Tulsa, Oklahoma.
She married Terry Wayne Tompkins on August 10, 1977 in Houston, Texas. She served her country by being a part of the United States Navy.
She is survived by her husband, Terry Wayne Tompkins of Arizona; one daughter, Kathlene Hathaway and her husband Michael of Altus, Oklahoma; one son, Michael Tompkins of Houston and three grandchildren, Christopher, Rebecca and Nathaniel James Hathaway.
She was preceded in death by her father, Charles Gatewood.
Memorial services are scheduled for Monday, May 25, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at Gospel Lighthouse Church in La Grange. Reverend Walter Williams and Reverend Annette Williams will officiate at the service.
Memorials may be made to Gospel Lighthouse Church or to a charity of one’s choice.
