Quinton La Ray Stewart was called to his heavenly home on September 2, 2012 at his home in O'Quinn Texas, at the age of 54.
Quinton L. Stewart was born on February 16, 1958 in Kinder, Louisiana. He came to the Houston area when he was 10 years old. He graduated at Sterling High School, Bay Town, Texas in 1977,

He married Bonnie Drescher on July 29, 1978. They were blessed with 2 children, daughter; Jamie and son; Jarod.

He was self- employed most of his life. In the La Grange area, he was known as "StickRod" when he had his welding business and later he added to his business, Stewarts Hauling and Tractor Service.

He was a long time member of The United Pentecostal Church. He was always testifying, and witnessing about the love of Jesus to everyone he came in touch with: family members, strangers; and then even when he was sick, he would witness and share with the medical staff, the Doctors and Nurses, and patients about the love of God. He loved to sing unto the Lord at church and at home. The song, "Sheltered In The Arms of God" was one he had been practicing and planning to be his next Special song to sing unto the Lord at church. He loved to sing unto the Lord at home also. He also loved to sing and joke with his family in making up songs about what they were doing; cooking, Jarod opening the door......

Quinton is survived by his wife Bonnie Stewart,daughter; Jamie Land and husband Michael,son; Jarod Stewart. Father; Norman H. Stewart, stepmother; Emma Stewart, granddaughters; Destiny and Sierra Land, brothers; Gary Stewart, and his wife Ann, Theron Stewart and wife Debbie, Danny Stewart and wife Tena. Also survived by mother-in-law; Mary Drescher, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; Mae Rausl and husband,Jimmie, Mary Rauch and husband, Edwin Jr. Dorothy Pierce and husband Roger, Margaret Bernshausen and husband, Larry, Frank(Buster)Drescher and wife, Beverly. Numerous nieces and nephews also survive.

He was preceded in death by his mother Mertis Burnett Stewart, brother Norman B. Stewart and father-in-law Frank C. Drescher.

Visitation is scheduled for September 4, 2012 at 1:00 PM until 6;30 PM at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home.

Funeral Services will be held on September 5, 2012 at 10:00 A.M. at the Fayette Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in La Grange. Interment will follow at Black Jack Cemetery near O'Quinn.

Pall Bearers include: David Rauch, Dusty Bernshausen, Mark Rausl, Doug Stewart, Jason Stewart, and Brian Stewart.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Family or Hospice Brazos Valley.
