Phyllis Howard Stewart, age 84, of La Grange, passed away on April 16, 2012, in La Grange.
Phyllis was born on July 24, 1927, in St. Paul Minnesota, to Dr. Merrill A. Howard and Josephine Jones Howard. She was a graduate of the University of Minnesota.
She married Terry Stewart on June 23, 1949. She enjoyed sewing, bridge, gin rummy, pets, travelling and chocolate.
Phyllis is survived by her husband, Terry Stewart; daughter, Khris Thurmond and husband Frank; son, Terrance Cameron Stewart; two grandchildren, Autumn McEwen and husband Justin and Jake Thurmond; two great-grandchildren, Hoyt and Campbell McEwen and one nephew, Tom Sparkman.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Jerry Sparkman.
For family and friends, a memorial service will be held on Sunday April 22, 2012 from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM at the Stewart farm.
Burial will take place at Lakewood Cemetery, Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice Brazos Valley.
