Pauline Adela Von Minden Harkey, was born on September 12, 1930, in La Grange, Texas, to Monroe Von Minden and Anita Drawe Von Minden. She passed away on May 18, 2012, at her home after a lengthy battle with cancer.
She was a lifetime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in La Grange and a retired nurse who worked several years at Care Inn of La Grange. After retirement, she became a volunteer at Hospice Brazos Valley and was active with the Care Bears and Ladies Aide Group at church.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Wallace Brewer, second husband, L. D. Baham, her parents, brothers, Ike Von Minden and Mike Von Minden and a sister Virgie Mode.
She is survived by her children; Wanda Sturrock of Hallettsville, Ernest Brewer and wife Virginia of La Grange, James Brewer and wife Kathy of La Grange and Paulette Sturrock and husband Michael of Muldoon; grandchildren, John Sturrock, Lori Sturrock, Joseph Sturrock and wife Gwen, James Brewer, Jr., Julie Talley and husband Russell, Jennifer Talley and husband Keith, Karie Brandt and husband J. K., Sara Koehl and husband David, Katy Sturrock and fiancé Deric Weyand; nine great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends also survive.
Visitation is scheduled for Sunday May 20, 2012, from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday May 21, 2012, at 10:00 AM at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in La Grange.
Interment will follow at Drawe Cemetery near Warrenton.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Drawe Cemetery, St. Paul Lutheran Church in La Grange or Hospice Brazos Valley.
Pallbearers will be Keith Talley, Russell Talley, John Sturrock, Joseph Sturrock, J. K. Brandt, and James Brewer, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be David Koehl and Deric Weyand.
