IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Pamela Kay
Powell
November 1, 1945 – February 11, 2026
“But we do not want you to be uninformed, brethren, about those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve as do the rest who have no hope.” 1 Thessalonians 4:13
With these words in our hearts, we announce that Pamela “Pam” Kay Powell, entered the Kingdom of Heaven on February 11, 2026. Pam was born on November 1, 1945, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas.
As a woman of deep faith, Pam was committed to maintaining a servant’s heart. She believed that true greatness was found in serving others. She was devoted to her family and her love and generosity was limitless. Those who knew Pam will remember the way she made them feel welcomed, comforted, and valued.
Pam’s professional life as a registered nurse also reflected her dedication to others. For decades, she provided compassionate care at every stage of life—from labor and delivery to the intensive care unit, and finally as a hospice nurse, bringing dignity and peace to those at the end of life’s journey. Even in her final months as a resident herself, her nursing heart never retired as she continued to offer comfort to her neighbors.
Pam was preceded in death by her high school sweetheart and devoted husband of 51 years, Dennis Powell; her mother, Hallie Stewart; her sisters, Edith Virginia “Ginny” Stewart and Lori Belt Echols; her niece, Sara Echols; and her nephew, Jason McCallister.
She leaves behind her loving children, Charles “Rocky” Powell, Tracy Mach and her husband Michael, and LeAnn Box and David Stout, Jr. She is also survived by her cherished grandchildren, Gus Powell, Hayen Mach, and Maddi Mach; her brothers, Morris McAllister and wife Alice, and Charles “Chucky” Belt and ex-wife Barbara Austin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
“Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things. I will make thee ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your Lord.” Matthew 25:23
Rest in peace dear Pamela, your work here is done and your reward is eternal.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the nurses and staff of Brazos Valley Hospice and Avir at La Grange for their care. A private graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Pamela’s honor to Brazos Valley Hospice.
