Nannie Roberts Koether

Memorial services for Nannie Jo Roberts Koether of Swiss Alp will be held Saturday, June 8, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. at United Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2038 FM 3171, Schulenburg, TX (in the Swiss Alp area). Pastor Lemae Higgs and Pastor Walter Hildebrandt will officiate. Mrs. Koether died May 30, 2019.

Nan was born in Rowell, Arkansas, on September 10, 1937. She moved to Texas in 1944 and attended schools in Austin and Lampasas graduating from Lampasas High School in 1955.

On March 1, 1958, Nan married Les Koether in Philadelphia Lutheran Church, Swiss Alp. In 1960, Nan and Les moved to the Dallas area and she worked as a secretary most of her adult life before moving back to Swiss Alp in 1990.

Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Les Koether of Swiss Alp, Texas; a daughter and son-in-law Kim and Darrell Dark of Saginaw, Texas; a son and daughter-in-law Kevin and Brenda Koether of Milton, Florida; a daughter and son-in-law Karen and Scott McClure of Katy, Texas; two sisters and brothers-in-law Margaret and Bill White of Melbourne, Florida and Beverly and Patrick O’Connor of Liberty Hill, Texas; a brother Ned Roberts of Van Buren, Arkansas; five grandchildren: Austin Jakusz, Ryan McClure, Kaylee Koether, Kristin Koether, and Jonathon McClure; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Nan was preceded in death by mother and step dad Josh and Ernestine Wier, mother-in-law Adela Koether, father-in-law Hobert Koether, brother-in-law Ronny Wilson, sister-in-law Dorothy Koether, and nephew Charles Koether.

The family requests, in lieu of flowers, that memorials be given to United Evangelical Lutheran Church OR Swiss Alp Lutheran Heritage Foundation in Swiss Alp.
