Michael Gerald Moore, born September 3, 1962, in Marion, South Carolina, passed away on July 1, 2026, in Austin, Texas.
Michael’s early years were rooted in South Carolina, where he attended South Florence High School. Pursuing further education, he earned his Master’s degree and worked in the computer field.
He proudly had a distinguished career in the United States Air Force, where Michael dedicated 20 years to serving his country. After retiring from the Air Force, Michael continued his service to the nation through a decade of work in civil service. Throughout his life, Michael also pursued a variety of interests. He enjoyed quilting, an art he practiced with patience and creativity. He was a devoted Christian, was a chaplain and an ordained minister.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 43 years, Kim Moore; his daughters Cassie Pohlman and her husband Barry Jr. of Colorado, Samantha Shaw and her husband Lance of La Grange, Abby Wintermute and her husband Tom of Colorado, and Kaye-Lani Celestino and her husband Tony of New York; grandchildren Ariel, Jasmin, Sara, Trinity, Jolene, Athena, Luke and Alex; one brother, Bobby Moore and wife Tammy; sisters, Mabel Kilpatrick and husband Frank and Kimberley Jenette and husband Tony.
Michael is preceded in death by his parents, Bobby Moore and Angelle Moore.
Anyone that knew Michael, knew he had a great sense of humor. He was, above all, a wonderful man, devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He will be remembered with affection and admiration by all who had the privilege to know him.
