A memorial service for Consuelo Flores is scheduled for June 7th at Our Lady at Mt. Carmel Catholic Church (Ysleta Mission) beginning at 10:30 a.m. with burial to follow. Consuelo Flores, age 91, passed away on January 2, 2025.

She was born on November 28, 1933 in Ciudad Juarez, Mexico to Juan C. Rios and Alicia (Blanco) Rios. She moved to Texas when she was 16 years old, graduated from El Paso High School and later married her husband of 25 years, Joaquin Flores in 1957.

Consuelo is preceded in death by her husband, daughter Bertha Alicia Flores, parents and two brothers.

She is survived by her children, Martha Martin and husband Josef of Kyle, Marc Flores and wife, Sebastiana of Bastrop, and Laura Flores of Temple, six grandchildren, five great grandchildren, two sisters and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family requests that memorial donations be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation.
