Marjorie Ann Nell Wernecke

A graveside service for Marjorie Ann Nell (Truelove) Wernecke is scheduled for 2 PM on January 13, 2023 at the Florida Chapel Cemetery in Round Top. 

Marjorie Wernecke, 89, passed away on Tuesday, January 10, 2023, at her home in Somerville, Texas. She was born in Port Lavaca on March 11, 1933 to parents Melvin Monroe Truelove and Dorothy Mae (Boyd) Truelove. She married the love of her life, Clarence Alvin Wernecke in 1949 and they were married 69 years until he passed away in 2017. They had a wonderful life together.

Marjorie loved her 26-year career as a hair stylist. Her hobbies included sewing, bowling, fishing, cooking, working with farm animals and traveling, especially to Hawaii. Marjorie also worked at a drug store in Port Lavaca and for Care Inn in La Grange for 2 and half years.  Marjorie was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

Marjorie is preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Dorothy Truelove; husband, Clarence Wernecke; son, Clarence Wernecke, Jr.; and son-in-law, Otto Heinze, Jr.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Heinze of Somerville; four grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to AccentCare Hospice and Palliative Care.
