Margarita Torres Westbrook, 80, passed away peacefully on July 30, 2026, leaving behind a family who loved her deeply and countless memories that will live on for generations. She was born on October 7, 1945, in Findlay, Ohio.

Margarita was preceded in death by her parents, Sarah Torres and Vicente Torres; two of her siblings; and one beloved daughter, Teresa Diaz. She is survived by her six children, three siblings, many grandchildren, and numerous extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory. She also leaves behind her dear friend.

As a child, Margarita's family traveled wherever migrant work took them. She often shared stories of those early years, recalling the smell of corn husks in the fields and how the family hunted rabbits so there would be food on the table. Those experiences shaped her strength, resilience, and appreciation for the simple things in life.

Margarita dedicated many years of her life to education as a teacher before retiring. She believed in the importance of learning and touched the lives of many students throughout her career.

She found joy in life's simple pleasures. She loved live music and could never resist dancing, no matter what song was playing. She treasured her home and the land she worked so hard to purchase, taking great pride in caring for her garden. Some of her happiest moments were spent sitting on her porch in the early morning, soaking in the warmth of the sunrise and enjoying the peace that surrounded her. Her home was also shared with the animals she adored, including her two dogs, two cats, and her flock of chickens.

Above all else, Margarita's greatest pride was her family. Her grandchildren were the light of her life, and she celebrated every milestone and memory they created together. She built a life rooted in perseverance, love, and determination, leaving behind a legacy of strength that will continue through each generation.

Though our hearts are heavy with her passing, we take comfort in knowing that her stories, laughter, love of dancing, and unwavering spirit will remain with us always. She will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever cherished.
