Leroy Schlabach , 80, of Round Top passed away on December 27, 2007. He was born on August 24, 1927, the son of Benno Schlabach and Meta Voelkel Schlabach. He grew up in the Haw Creek area.
Leroy Schlabach married Gertrude Schlabach on April 22, 1956, in Lincoln. He was a retired farmer and rancher and lived his entire life in the Round Top area.
He was the president of The Nassau Cemetery Association and served on the Board of Directors for Lee County Farmers Co-op.
Mr. Schlabach was preceded in death by his parents, Benno and Meta (Voelkel) Schlabach and one brother.
Survivors include his wife, Gertrude Schlabach of Round Top; daughter, Susan Faye Schlabach of Temple; son, Steven Wayne Schlabach of Houston; brother, Daniel Schlabach and wife Diann of La Grange; sister-in-law, Irene and husband Jimmy Pohorelsky of Giddings; one nephew, Michael Schlabach of La Grange; and one niece, Carol McCowan of Giddings.
Services for Mr. Schlabach will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2007, at 3:00 p.m. from the St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Shelby with Pastor Linda Mosley officiating. Burial will follow in the Nassau Cemetery near Shelby.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Nassau Cemetery Association, Cummins Creek Wildlife Association, Lee County Farmers Co-op, or the Farm Bureau.
