Services for Larry Wayne Moerbe,77, of Warda, Texas are set for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda, Texas, with Rev. Dustin Beck officiating. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, from 5:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., with the family present from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. A prayer service will be held at 6:00 p.m. Mr. Moerbe passed away on December 23, 2023, in La Grange, Texas.

Larry was born August 12, 1946, in La Grange, Texas to Milton Moerbe and Dorothy (Malke) Moerbe. He was baptized in September, 1946 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda. He received his Confirmation from Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church in La Grange on March 26, 1961. His confirmation verse was from Revelation 2:10, "Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life."

He graduated from La Grange High School and then went on to graduate from Southwest Texas State University on May 29, 1969, with a B.S. in Business Administration. On November 14, 1970, he married Marie Jurk at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda. Their marriage was blessed with their two sons, Ryan and Kory.

He later received an Honorable Discharge on September 18, 1975, from the United States Marines.

Larry enjoyed hunting , fishing, and most sports, especially football and baseball. He was a member of the Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda, and very involved in its various clubs, such as Men's Club and the BBQ/Picnic Committee.

Larry is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Ryan & Alicia Moerbe, Kory & Amber Moerbe, all of Warda; sister and brother-in-law, Charlene & Kenny Harbers of Plum; brother-in-law, Sammy Fritsch of La Grange; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Danny & Judy Jurk of Warda; granddaughter, Makenzie Moerbe, and numerous other family, friends, and loved ones.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents, Milton & Dorothy Moerbe; his wife, Marie; brother, Jimmy Moerbe; sister, Susan Fritsch; and mother and father-in-law, Monroe & Evelyn Jurk.

Serving as pallbearers will be, Richard Wagner, Gary Wagner, Terry Lehmann, Steven Lehmann, Scott Schramm , Brad Harbers, and Tom Jurk.

The family requests that Memorial contributions be made to the Holy Cross Lutheran Church Picnic Fund, in Larry's name.
