Judy Burklund

Services for Judy Ann Burklund, 75, of Fayetteville, Texas are set for 1:00 p.m., Thursday, January 26, 2023, at Fayette Memorial Chapel of La Grange, Texas. A visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 25, also at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange.

Judy was born September 4, 1947, in La Grange, Texas to F.C. Knippel, Jr. and Mabel (Juergens) Knippel. She graduated from Fayetteville High School in 1965 where she was a cheerleader and played all sports including basketball, volleyball, and softball. Judy was also named Miss Bluebonnet her senior year of high school.

Judy went to beauty school and worked as a beautician before becoming a mother of two daughters. She had various jobs in her life but the one that she was most dedicated to was collections.  Judy was a collections manager for Austin Sales and Scaffold for 20+ years and in the industry for 40+ years. Judy loved anything to do with working in her yard and growing plants and flowers.  Making beautiful flower arrangements was a favorite hobby and she followed in her mother's footsteps when it came to having a green thumb. She loved spending time with her daughters and with her grandchildren. She enjoyed trips with her sisters and going to the beach. She loved her family immensely.

Judy was preceded in death by her parents.

Judy is survived by daughters, Bridget and husband Doug Braneff of Bastrop, Nicole and husband Chris Kelm of Coupland; sisters, Jayne Neumann of Brenham, Janice Knippel of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Zachary Kretschmar and wife Rebekah, Stephen Braneff and wife Hailey, Shelby Boysen and fiancée Phillip Rodriquez, and Tristan Kelm. Also surviving Judy are great grandchildren, Adalyn Kretschmar, Jaeden Thomas, Blake Boysen, Kylie Braneff, Kamdyn Braneff, Kash Kretschmar, Dax Rodriquez and nephew, Craig & Becky Neumann and family; niece, Angela & Kevin Moore & family, and numerous families, friends and loved ones.

Memorial contributions should be sent to the American Cancer Society or the Charity of One's Choice in Judy's name.
