Johnny Yackel age 72 of La Grange, passed away at his home on May 12, 2015. Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday May 23, 2015 at The First Baptist Church of El Campo with Pastor Rick DuBroc officiating.
Johnny was born in El Campo on January 9, 1943 to Walter and Vlasta Yackel. He spent many years working in the oilfield. He was married to Dianna Christmas on September 19, 1986 in Bay City. They moved to La Grange in 1991. He enjoyed woodworking, hunting, fishing, and raising boxer puppies.
He was preceded in death by his parents, sister-in-law Francis Garner Yackel, and sister-in-law Betty Rod Yackel.
He is survived by wife Dianna, son Kurt and wife Gina Yackel, son Chris and wife Jennifer Yackel, son Clayton and wife Cassi Yackel, 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, brother Alvin Yackel, and brother Clarence Yackel.
