John W. Sabrsula, age 75, of Plum passed away at his home on Sunday August 7, 2011.
John was born on July 25, 1936 to Walter and Sophronie Moore Sabrsula Sr in Plum. His hobbies included carpentry, gardening and fishing. Above all John enjoyed playing his music and visiting with his friends and spending time with his family.
He is survived by children, Carrie Ann and husband George “Doc” McKirahan of Belton, TX; Brenda Kaye and husband Greg Stevens of Whitesboro, TX; Linda Gayle and husband Glen Harmon of Smithville, TX; Troy Wade and wife Heather Sabrsula of League City, TX; 14 grandchildren; Mindy McKirahan Steed and husband Will, MaKala McKirahan, Marc McKirahan, Trey McKirahan and wife Melissa, Kristen Hodges, Tyson Hodges and wife Mysti, Tanner Hodges, Tevin Stevens, Weston Stevens, Eric Harmon, Neil Harmon, Valerie Harmon, Reid Sabrsula and Macy Sabrsula. 3 great grandchildren; Holtyn Hodges, Hunter and Hudson McKirahan; 1 brother, Jack and wife Christine Sabrsula of Smithville; 4 sisters; Mildred Lauraine of Gonzales, TX; Betty Reed of Corpus Christi, TX; Minnie Meyer of La Grange, TX; Lois and husband David Stahl of Winchester, TX. Along with his faithful dog Yogi.
He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Sophronie Sabrsula, Sr; 2 brothers Vivian and Frank Sabrsula.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 AM, Thursday August 11, 2011 at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home.
