Johanna Marie (Teinert) Pietsch, 98, of La Grange died February 27, 2009 at Care Inn of La Grange. A memorial service is scheduled for Monday, March 2, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in La Grange, TX with Pastor Dennis Bragdon officiating. Visitation is Sunday, March 1, 2009 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. with the family receiving visitors from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange.
She was born on August 17, 1910 at Priddy, Texas, the daughter of Paul and Pauline (Lehmann) Teinert. She married Emil Pietsch on October 5, 1930 in Warda. She was a member of Mount Calvary Lutheran Church of La Grange.
Survivors include daughters, Charlene Stelzig of La Grange, and Margie Buscha and her husband Matt of La Grange; a son, Larry Pietsch and his wife Linda of Temple; a sister, Louise Wagner of Springdale, Arkansas; a brother, Leon Teinert and wife Lillian of LaGrange, sister-in-law Gladys Teinert of La Grange; ten grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughter, Junell Maners, sisters Alma Froehlich and Rachel Witt, and her brother, Paul Teinert.
Memorials may be made to The Katie Teinert Scholarship Fund, the Mt. Calvary Lutheran Men’s Club Bar B Q Pit Fund, or to the charity of one’s choice.
