Joan Ruth Elliott Fitzpatrick, a resident of La Grange for more than 70 years, died December 20, 2022.

She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She held many positions in the First Presbyterian Church over her many years of service to the La Grange community. She was the embodiment of the “love thy neighbor” instruction in the Bible and was known for her unwavering optimism and the smile always on her face.

Surviving family members include her son, David (Debbie); daughter, Deborah; son, Michael (Diana); son Marc (Stephanie).  Grandchildren include Jon (Susan) Fitzpatrick; Jenna (George) Haj; Kimberly Miller; Megan (Sergio) Meneses; Ryan (Christyna) Fitzpatrick; Brynn (Christopher) Pinto; Matthew (Kaylee) Fitzpatrick; Darby (Michael) Mueller; Emma and Kate Fitzpatrick.  Great-grandchildren include Ashley, Jason, Bryce, Cierra, Caidon, and Gracen Fitzpatrick; Alexander Haj; Jasmine (James) Holman, Hannah Holman; Adrian and Sofia Meneses and Sloane Pinto.

Joan was preceded in death by her daughter, Pamela; her husband Dr. E. L. “Doc” Fitzpatrick; son-in-law, John Behringer; and her parents, Bill and Agnes Elliott.
