Irene A. Weyand passed away on Friday October 30, 2009, at the age of 88.
Irene was born on August 8, 1921 at Fayetteville, Texas, the daughter of Alfred and Sophie Chovanec Raschke.
She is survived by four sons: Glen and his wife Betty Weyand of Lufkin, Ricky Weyand of Round Top, Roy and his wife Susan Weyand of Round Top, Gary and his wife Glenda Weyand of Brenham and a daughter, Delores and her husband Larry Pohl of Carmine. She is also survived by a sister, Gladys and her husband Frank Miculka of Shiner and a brother-in-law, Raymond Svec of Crosby.
Irene is also survived by eleven grandchildren: Russell and Robyn Weyand of La Grange, Rhonda and Keith Jones of Lufkin, Rodney and Kris Weyand of College Station, Tracy and Dale Pawlak of Cypress, Terry Pohl of La Grange, Kevin Weyand of Houston, Kori Weyand of Round Top, Kirt Weyand of Round Top, Joshua Weyand of Brenham, Justin Weyand of Brenham and Nicole Weyand of Brenham. Seven great-grandchildren also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie; a sister Ruby Svec and other sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law.
Visitation is scheduled for Monday November 2, 2009, from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
Services are scheduled for Tuesday November 3, 2009, at 10:00 AM at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top. Burial will follow at Nassau Cemetery, near Round Top.
Memorials may be made to Nassau Cemetery or Brazos Valley Hospice.
