GLADYS DOROTHY PONCIK

A funeral mass for Gladys Dorothy Poncik, 84, of La Grange will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Plum. Interment will follow in the La Grange CityCemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m, Monday August 20, 2018 in the Fayette Memorial Funeral Home Chapel. A rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m.

Gladys was born March 27, 1934 in Schulenburg, Texas to Otilie Dusek Vanicek and John Vanicek. She entered her eternal rest on August 18, 2018 in La Grange.

Gladys married John Poncik on July 19, 1958 in High Hill. He preceded her in death on December 14, 2010.

Gladys is survived by one son; David Poncik of La Grange; 3 daughters and sons-in law; Joyce and Daniel Wood of La Grange, Katherine and David Walla of Plum, and Carolyn and Jeff Rost of La Grange, 2 sisters-in-law; Dorothy Poncik , and Linda Poncik , 1 sister; Mildred Marek,  and 1 brother-in-law; Emil Poncik . 3 grandchildren; Brian Wood and his wife, Amanda, Jonathan Walla, and his wife, Melissa, and Jordan Walla. 5 great grandchildren; Andrew and Adalynn Wood, Avery, Amelia, and Emery Walla, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Gladys was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
