Funeral services for Gladys Mae (Oeding) Dippel, 102, of La Grange, Texas are set for 11:00 a.m., Friday, May 7, 2021 at the First United Methodist Church in La Grange, with Rev. Andy Smith officiating.  Interment will follow at La Grange City Cemetery.  Visitation will be 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Thursday, May 6, 2021 at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. Mrs. Dippel passed from this world May 4, 2021 at her home in La Grange surrounded by family and loved ones.

Gladys was born November 19, 1918 to Louis J. Oeding and Alma (Albrecht) Oeding in Fayette County, Texas near the Swiss Alp and Black Jack Communities.

Gladys was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lloyd H. Dippel; and two brothers, Ruben Wesley Oeding and Delvin Oeding.

She is survived by son, Darryl Lloyd Dippel of La Grange; daughter, Darla Jane Dippel-Brandt and husband Donald of La Grange; grandchildren, Theresa Lynn Lovelace and husband Larry, Laurie Suzanne Kensicki and husband Dave, Jason Lee Brandt and wife Bridget; great grandchildren, Jared Bryant Lovelace, Erika Fallon Lovelace, Eli Kristian Lovelace, Sam Everett Lovelace, Joe Bridger Lovelace, Brylee Michelle Brandt, Colin Lee Brandt; nephews, Dennis Oeding, Kevin Oeding; niece Debbie Oeding; cousins, Weldon Koenig, Rodney Koenig, Gene Oeding, Harvey Oeding and many other family friends and loved ones.

Gladys was a Teacher’s Aid for 21 years, all in the La Grange school system.  She was a member of PTA, a Sunday School Teacher, Sunday School Superintendent, and taught Vacation Bible School as well.  She was a housewife, an artist, a seamstress, loved to crochet and was an excellent cook.
