A funeral celebration of the long, fruitful life of Ervin Brandt will be held at Weimar United Church (403 W. Main St., Weimar, Texas 78963) at 11:00 AM on July 16, 2026.. A visitation is scheduled for July 16, 2026 beginning at 10:00 AM at the church prior to the funeral.
Ervin Brandt, a lifelong resident of Texas and respected member of his community, passed away on July 1, 2026, in Schulenburg, Texas, at the age of 92. Born on May 2, 1934, in Weimar, Texas.
Ervin spent his life ranching and farming in Holman, Texas often alongside his dear younger sister, Arline. Ervin was a longtime member of the Weimar United Church. His faith provided a foundation for his daily life and guided his interactions with others, reflecting his values of a caring and loving man.
Ervin enjoyed spending time with his best friend Lawrence Rose. They enjoyed going to dinner and local dances.
Central to Ervin’s legacy was his deep devotion to family. He remained close to all of his nieces and nephews throughout the years. His kindness and generosity enriched the lives of those around him and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Ervin is survived by his sister, Arline Watson; sisters-in-law, Elaine Brandt and Darla Brandt; and his loving nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur H. Brandt; his mother, Adeline Trefny Brandt; his brothers, Hubert Brandt and wife Virginia of Mullins Prairie, Franklin Brandt, Arthur Brandt, Jr., and wife Gloria of Osage and Donald Brandt; his dear friend Lawrence Rose, and nieces Susan Brandt Madison and Sherry Wendt Watson of Weimar.
The family request that memorial donations be made to the Weimar United Church of Christ or to a charity of one’s choice.
