Ernest Alexander Riedel, age 91, passed away on January 27, 2010 at his residence in Carmine, Texas.
Mr. Riedel was born on october 11, 1918 in Houston, Texas to Joseph Rudolph Riedel and Clara Louise Sternberg Riedel.
He was united in marriage to his wife Francine on August 30, 1943 in Houston.
He was a retired Southern Pacific Railroad employee.
He is survived by his wife Francine; three children, Milton and his spouse Janice Riedel; Nanette and her spouse Ken Mendez; Bruce and his spouse Earlene Riedel. He is also survived by eight grandchildren; Susan Supper, Rueben Stafford, Heidi Baker, Holly Stafford, Cody Riedel, Courtney Schuirring, Britanny Riedel and Derrick Riedel.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Milton Charles Riedel.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday January 30, 2010 from 8:00 AM until 8:00 PM at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 until 7:00 PM.
Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday January 31, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top. Burial will be at the Houston National Cemetery Tuesday February 2, 2010, at 2:30 PM.
Memorial contributions may be made to Brazos Valley Hospice of the charity of one's choice.
