Eleanor Loehr was called home by her lord and savior on September 14, 2025. Born in O’Quinn, Texas on September 9, 1932, Eleanor’s journey on earth began, one that would be marked by her devotion to her family. After 93 years of a life well-lived, she passed away peacefully in Schulenburg, Texas, leaving behind a legacy of strength, love, and generosity, as she always put others before herself.

Eleanor was the beloved wife of the late Robert “Buddy” Loehr. In their 58 years of marriage, they were blessed with four beautiful children: Janet Anders (the late David Anders), William Loehr, James Loehr (Leslie) and Melissa Barta (Glenn). They were also blessed with 12 grandchildren and 36 great-grandchildren which brought much joy to her life.

As a homemaker and mother, Eleanor’s life was a testament to the power of selfless love and the beauty of everyday grace. Eleanor started the workforce at a very young age. While having many different job duties she ended her career by retiring from St. Marks Medical Center in the dietary department after 36 plus years of dedicated service.

Eleanor had a profound appreciation and love for the farm animals, especially the new baby calves. Her garden and flowerbeds were a testament of her patience and nurturing touch. Her family can attest that she was a wonderful cook and was well-known for her famous chicken and dumplings, sweet rice and chicken and rice soup.

Eleanor will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
