Edith Weigelt Klump, 94, of Round Top passed away April 1, 2011 at Care Inn of La Grange.
Edith was born on January 17, 1917 at Round Top, the daughter of Ewald and Ellie Schulz Weigelt. She taught herself to play the organ through mail lessons. She played at Bethlehem Lutheran Church for 60 years and at other area churches and various functions. She was also the Avon lady for 40 years. She enjoyed tending register and talking with her many friends at Klump’s Restaurant.
She is survived by her son, Ronald Klump and wife Liz of Round Top; a daughter, Kathleen Noska and husband Ernie of Frelsburg; two brothers, Herman Weigelt of Round Top and Marcus Weigelt and wife Evelyn of Iowa; two sisters, Ethel Mikeska of Hondo and Virginia Weigelt of Houston. She is also survived by five grandchildren; Russell Klump and wife Jonna of Burton, Kristina Pierce and husband Mark of Brenham, Jason Noska and wife Julie of Brenham, Douglas Noska and wife Kimberly of Katy and Nicole Noska of Katy; seven great-grandchildren, Madeline and Kolten Pierce, Nicholas and Noah Noska, Rebecca, Dylan and Ashlyn Noska; sisters-in-law; Bonnie Klump, Frances Stancik, Grace Klump, Jane Klump; brother-in-law, Roy Krebs, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Roy; brother, Edmund Weigelt and wife Leona; brothers-in law, Jerry Mikeska, James Lyman and wife Eurline, Dickie Klump, Lawrence Klump, Glenn Klump, Louis Schobel and wife Violet, Alvin Stancik, and Gilbert Poenitzsch and wife LaVerne, sisters-in-law; Julie Weigelt, and Vernice Krebs.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday April 2, 2011, from 10:00 AM until 8:00 PM, at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM.
Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday April 3, 2011, at 2:00 PM, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Round Top. Interment will follow at Florida Chapel Cemetery, near Round Top.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Bethlehem Lutheran Church Organ Fund or the charity of one’s choice.
