Doris June Forsythe, 84, passed away peacefully at home on April 2, 2015, with her family by her side in Muldoon, TX.

She was born January 4, 1931 in Muldoon where she was raised and later enjoyed her retirement years. She was one of seven children of the late Ovie Blankenberg and Benno Lueders. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Alton, Alvin, Parker, and Bobby Lueders and sister Dollie Null. She is survived in life by her husband of 68 years, Eugene W. Forsythe of Muldoon, her brother Benny Lueders of Smithville, her children, Alton Forsythe and Molly Stegall and son-in-law Hank; in addition to four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law Dorothy Lueders and Mary Lueders of Smithville, along with many nieces and nephews.

She was an active member of the Muldoon Baptist Church and valued greatly her relationship with Lord Jesus Christ. She was known affectionately as, “The Queen of Muldoon” for many years during the annual Fourth of July Parade in Muldoon. She was a beloved member of her community for the decades of faithful service to local Muldoon churches and her many friends and loved ones.

Doris touched the lives of many people with her smile, generosity, quick wit and trademark sense of humor. Friends and family are invited to attend funeral services to be held at Muldoon Baptist Church on Monday, April 6 at 2:00pm at 300 Cochran St.. Interment will be at the Pitman Cemetery in Muldoon with reception to follow at Muldoon Baptist Church. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 5 from 12:00 to 9:00pm at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home. Family will receive friends and community from 5-7pm. The family requests all donations be sent to the compassionate people who gave such wonderful care for Doris in her time of need at Hospice Brazos Valley in LaGrange.
