Donald Wayne Hentschel, Sr., age 48, of Giddings, Texas, passed away on November 2, 2011 in Elgin, alongside of his twin brother Ronald Charles Hentschel.
Donald was born on February 24, 1963 in La Grange, to Robert Lee Hentschel, Sr. and Lois (Ahlschlager) Hentschel.
Donnie attended La Grange High School and was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda. Donald’s fondest times were spent hunting, fishing, making sausage, gardening and Nascar racing.
Donnie is survived by six sons, Donald Jr.; Joshua and wife Casey; Jacob, Cameron and wife Vanessa; Dillan, and Tyler; by three brothers, Ray Hentschel and wife Sharon; Robert Hentschel, Jr. and wife Rhonda; and Russell Hentschel and wife Jennifer; four sisters, Judy Wagner and husband Willie; Joyce Escalante and husband Fernando; Joan Gersch and husband, David, and Janis Lehmann and husband Ricky; two grandchildren, Laign and Cadence Hentschel; and stepmother, Frances Hentschel; one step-brother and six step-sisters. Numerous uncles, aunts, nieces, nephews, friends and other relatives survive.
Donnie was preceded in death by his wife, Angie Hentschel; his parents, brother, Ronald; granddaughter, Emma Johnson, his grandparents and one step-brother.
Visitation is scheduled for Sunday November 6, 2011, from 12:00 PM until 8:00 PM, at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. The family will receive visitors from 4:00 PM until 6:00 PM. A prayer service is scheduled for 6:30 PM, at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home.
Funeral services are scheduled for Monday November 7, 2011, at 10:00 AM, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Warda. Burial will follow at Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery.
