Delta Emma Toni Bartling) Mischer passed into Heaven on April 15, 2015 at St. David’s Hospital in Austin, Texas having lived a life of 90 plus years.
Delta was born on November 3, 1924 to Kennie Bartling and Ella Keilers Bartling in Haw Creek.
She completed 12 years in school and never missed a day. As a single parent of three young boys, she married the love of her life Herbert Mischer on November 26, 1953 in Warrenton. Life was hard during those years, but with love they raised the sons in a Christian home.
In 1968 she began her working career at Camp LutherHill, Harry & Lynn’s Restaurant, Franklin Nursery, Jake’s Egg House, Festival Hill, Oldenburg Country Store and cleaned homes.
She loved baking, gardening, volunteering at Camp LutherHill, Second Chance and her church. She also loved playing Chicken Foot and talking on the phone with friends and family.
She is survived by her children; son, Eugene and wife Carlyn Hall of Round Top; son, David and wife Dorothy Hall of Buda; daughter-in-law, Susan Hall of Montgomery, grandchildren, Bert and Christie Hall of League City, Jason Hall and Brenda Orona of Austin, Nicole and Alan Kuntschik of Seguin, Brandon and Stephanie Hall of Buda, Spencer and Melissa Hall of Houston. She was blessed with the gift of 6 great-grandchildren; Wesley and Kailey Kuntschik, Colby and Ryan Hall and Hayden and Henley Grace Hall. In addition, God blessed Delta’s life with many nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, Lisa Bartling of Dallas and Alberta Mischer of San Antonio and an abundance of special friends.
Delta was preceded in death by her parents; husband Herbert, son Kennie Louis Hall, grandson Charles David Hall and brother Lee Roy Bartling.
Pallbearers will be Bert Hall, Alan Kuntschik, Jason Hall, Brandon Hall, Wesley Kuntschik, Ed Eargle, ElGene Weyand and Jim Rush.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. John Lutheran Church in Rutersville, Camp LutherHill in La Grange or the charity of one’s choice.
The Lord gives and the Lord takes away; blessed be the name of the Lord. We give thanks to God our Father through Jesus Christ, for our mother and sister in Christ, Delta Mischer.
Visitation is scheduled for Saturday April 18, 2015 from 8:00 AM until 7:00 PM at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM. A prayer service is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
Funeral services are scheduled for Sunday April 19, 2015 at 2:30 PM at St. John Lutheran Church in Rutersville.
Interment will follow in La Grange City Cemetery.
