Deborah Charlene Blume

Deborah Charlene Blume, 75 of La Grange, passed away at her home on September 5, 2025. She was born in La Grange on August 9, 1950 to Walter James and Allyne Bertha (Tschiedel) Blume.

Deborah graduated from La Grange High School in 1968 where she enjoyed playing volleyball and softball. She went on to earn her Associate’s degree from Blinn College in Brenham. Deborah was an animal lover, enjoyed dancing, and was a very good writer. She was very intelligent and very organized. She will be missed dearly by her family, friends and neighbors.

In her own writing, Deborah requested that in lieu of donations that persons, “take the time to make someone laugh, to listen to someone who needs to talk, to plant a flower, or to commit some act of kindness”.

Deborah is survived by one son, Robbie Moody of Pflugerville; siblings, Lora Blume and husband, Thom Penney of Austin and Lucille Strickland of Flatonia along with many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Allyne Blume.

The family would like to thank her loving neighbors, and dear friend Doris Lidiak for always checking on Deborah.

The family has chosen Fayette Memorial Funeral Home to honor and care for their loved one.
