A Mass of Christian Burial for David Capetillo Romero, 37, of La Grange is set for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 19, 2021 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in La Grange, Texas with Fr. David was born in the city of San buena-Aventura, located in the county of Coahuila, Mexico on October 20, 1983 to Mario Alonso Romero and Teresa Capetillo.  He married Valerie Zapata on May 22, 2010.
David was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend.  He was a gentle person that cared for everyone.  David enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.  He loved his two dogs, King and Prince. He spent countless hours working on his red truck, until he finally got it running.  His smile will shine bright and will be remembered forever.  His mission was to be the best father he could be. He provided the world for his girls and would do anything for them.  He loved his family and friends.  Hanging out with his loved ones and reminiscing about the good 'ole days.
David was a strong, hardworking man.  He loved his profession; Oil Field was his life. He would spend countless hours and days working until he got the job done. He was proud to be operating his own rig and a crew he got to call his brothers.  He would always look forward to his days off and to have a BBQ for anyone and everyone.  He was always up at 5:00 a.m., to light the pit and start enjoying some family time.  No matter whose house he was at, his dads, or his moms house, or even hanging out with friends, we always knew that David was going to enjoy himself.  David was a provider; for his family; a counselor to his girls, nephews, nieces, and to those that looked up to him as a father figure.  He was very much loved.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Juan Manuel Romero; step-mother, Maria Luisa Romero and grandmother, Olivia Aguirre Romero.
David is survived by his wife Valerie Romero of La Grange; his mother, Teresa Capetillo of La Grange; his father, Alonso Romero of Plum daughters, Veronica Romero of McAllen, Tori Zapata of La Grange, Jasamine Zapata of La Grange; brother, Jesus Romero of Plum; sisters, Shannon Cruz of West Point, Kelly Soto of La Grange, Karina Lopez of La Grange; 16 nieces and 12 nephews; two great nephews and one great niece, and numerous other family, friends, and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Soto, Brandon Holstien, Marcelo Romero, Ben Zapata, Guillermo Guevara, and Juan Garcia.  Jesus Romero and Angel Cruz will act as Honorary Pallbearers.
