Danny Louis Walther was born on September 16, 1949, in Houston. He was the son of William Raymond Walther and Nadine Schwausch Walther. Danny Louis Walther passed away on December 26, 2007, in Austin, Texas. He was 58 years, 3 months, and 10 days old.

He worked as a mill worker and served in the United States Army during the Vietnam era. His hobbies included hunting, fishing, collecting military memorabilia, watching sports and military movies.

Danny Louis Walther was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars, the American Legion, Department of Veterans Affairs, Vietnam Veterans of America, Texas Vietnam Veterans Association and the National Museum of the United States Army.

He is survived by his mother Nadine Schwausch Walther and two daughters; Crystal Walther and Wendi Walther Baker. One son-in-law Thomas Baker survives along with one sister Peggy Henk. His three grandchildren—Sean Baker, Shelby Baker and Matthew Baker also survive.

He was preceded in death by his father William Walther, one son Shawn Walther and one granddaughter Christina Baker.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 29, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. from the Mount Calvary Lutheran Church in La Grange, Texas. Pastor Paul Droegemueller will officiate. Burial will be in the Mount Calvary Lutheran Cemetery.
