Funeral services for Daniel Lee Worthington are scheduled for Wednesday, March 8, 2023 at 2:00 pm at the Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange with interment to follow at the La Grange City Cemetery.  Visitation will be held on March 7, 2023 from 12:00 pm – 6:00 pm, also at the funeral home.

Daniel Lee Worthington, 83, passed away on March 3, 2023 in Austin, Texas. He was born in Denton, Texas on November 23, 1939 to Arthur Daniel and Carrie Lena (Vaughan) Worthington. 

Daniel traveled a lot with his career in the oil field business until he made La Grange his home 16 years ago after falling in love with the Bluff views.    He enjoyed Western movies, old country music, and bull riding.  He also enjoyed playing bingo.  Daniel was an amazing father and grandfather.  He always had an open door and would do anything for his family.  He will be dearly missed.

Daniel is survived by his children; Rickey Lynn Worthington (Angie) of Will Point, Texas, DanJackie “Johnny” Worthington (Vanessa) of La Grange, Mary Lena “Missy” Worthington of Wichita Falls, Aleta Kay Jones of Haltom City, Jacquelynn Ray Gwynn (Jonathon) of Kansas, and Allison Lynnleigh Roberts (John); siblings Donald, Mittie and Carolyn; along with 17 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents; Arthur Daniel and Carrie Lena Worthington; and son, Danny Lee Worthington; siblings, Jimmy and Faye. 

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Worthington family to help cover funeral expenses.
