Cynthia Diane "Howard" Coufal

November 6, 1956 — February 11, 2023

Columbus, Texas

A memorial service for Cynthia Diane “Howard” Coufal will be held a later date at the Glidden Baptist Church in Glidden.

Cynthia Coufal, 66 of Columbus, passed away on February 11, 2023 at home with her family by her side. Cynthia Diane “Howard” Coufal was born on November 6, 1956 in Bushnell, Florida to Otis Wayne Howard and Francis Eugenia Seales.

Every day, Cynthia would start her morning sitting on the front porch, drinking her coke and smoking her cigarette.  Cynthia was very outgoing, friendly and enjoyed visiting with her friends. She was a very hard worker and loved working in the hospitality business as a waitress.  She loved her cat, Meow but mostly she loved her family.  Spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were precious to her. Long visits from her longtime friends, Michael and Ronda Woolman, brightened her day. She was a character. She loved making people laugh but always offered a shoulder to cry on. When any of the kids would show up, she would be the happiest and proudest Nana around. Cynthia was the best mother and Nana anyone could ask for and will be missed so much by everyone.

Cynthia is survived by her daughters Kathy Semora and Kristy (Charlie) Woolman, both of Columbus; step daughter, Loretta Krenek (Bobby); sister Patricia (Doyle) Carter of Webster, Florida; grandchildren, Justin, Taylor, and Kelsey Semora, Tabitha, Samantha, Chloe, and Justice Woolman, Preslee Krenek and her bonus grandchild, Ava Woolman; great-grandchildren Jaxson, Hannah, Maverick, Brayden, Jayren, Brinlee, Asher and Carter; nephew, David Howard of Bellville, Texas and host of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Otis and Eugenia Howard; four brothers, three sisters, grandchild Brylynn Semora and beloved nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Hospice Brazos Valley or the Glidden Baptist Church.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange, Texas. Share your thoughts and fond memories online at www.fayettememorialfuneralhome.com.
