A Mass of Christian Burial for Charlean Jeanette "Pat" (Drab) Sury, 84, of Fayetteville is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, December 22, 2023, at St. John's Catholic Church in Fayetteville, Texas. Interment will follow at St. John's Cemetery with Fr. Steve Sauser officiating. Visitation will be held at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange, Texas on Thursday, December 21, 2023, beginning at 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at which time a Rosary will be recited.
Pat was born December 27, 1938, to Charles Drab, Sr., and Tonie (Chovanec) Drab in Crosby, Texas. She married Edmund Sury on November 17, 1962, and they spent 43 years together before his passing.
Pat was a longtime member of the Catholic Daughters Association, KJZT, St. John's Catholic Church Altar Society, and a choir member. She was very active in the Fayetteville PTC and worked at the Fayetteville Bank for 24 years in customer service.
Pat is survived by her sons and daughters-in-laws, Ken & Jean Sury of Woodway, Texas; Roger Sury & Lorna Benton of Katy, Texas; daughter, Karen Sury of Cypress, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Charles & Sandra Drab, Jr. of Dripping Springs, sister-in-law, Sylvia Ann Kramr of Cypress; brother-in-law, Steve Lyssy of Fayetteville; grandchildren, John Benton, Elaine Sury, Hunter Sury, Grant Sury, Angelina Sury; seven great-grandchildren; special friend Charlie Janecek of East Bernard; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She loved being a grandmother and spending time with her grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Tonie; step-father, William Machala; her husband Edmund; sister, Dorothy "Dottie" Lyssy; and infant brother, James Edward Drab.
Pallbearers will be Michael Kramr, Steve Kramr, Grant Sury, Hunter Sury, Robert Drab, and John Benton.
The family requests Memorial Contributions be made in Pat's name to St. John's Catholic Church Altar Society, or a charity of your choice.
