Carval Lorenzo (Carl) Palmer of Fayetteville passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones in the comfort of his home on July 12, 2025.
Mr. Palmer was born on December 19, 1942 to Joseph Lorenzo and Ila Mae Palmer in Louisville, Mississippi. He was the first of ten children. The family moved to Texas in 1950 and he graduated from Briggs High School in 1962. After graduation, he attended Barber School in Austin and later served in the U.S. Army. Upon returning home, he moved to the Freeport, TX area for a few years and worked as a ranch hand before moving to Sealy where he lived for many years and raised his family there.
After he retired from Acme Brick in Sealy, he decided he wanted to move back to the country and do what he loved, farming, and ranching. He bought some land, and built a home in Kempner, near his siblings. Then in 2022 as his health started to decline, he was invited to move in with his daughter and son-in-law near Fayetteville. He was happy there, as he was near his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren again, and was still able to live the country life.
He is preceded in death by his parents, infant twin brothers John and James Palmer, sister Kitty White, and brother Kenny Palmer.
He is survived by his two daughters, Patti Christoferson and husband Ken of Fayetteville, and Colleen Johnson and husband Richard of The Woodlands.
Two granddaughters, Brooke Knoll and husband Cody of Bellville, and Mackenzie Kmiec and husband Toby of Columbus. He had 3 great-grandchildren that he adored, Brecken and Brady Knoll, and Wrenley Kmiec.
He is also survived by his sisters, Rubye Neeck and husband Bill Holder of Burnet, Elaine DolBeare of Burnet, Daphne Reavis of Burnet, Kizzie Powell and husband Phil of Llano, Glenna Arnold of Burnet, and sister-in-law Carole Palmer of Kempner.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you consider making a donation to Hospice Brazos Valley, or to the American Lung Association.
