Carolyn Lee Stanley, a beloved homemaker known for her kindness and devotion to family, passed away on March 31, 2026, in Columbus, Texas. Born on February 11, 1946, in Hallettsville, Texas, Carolyn's life was marked by warmth, dedication and an enduring passion for those she loved.
Carolyn was a graduate of Hallettsville High School and furthered her education at Victoria Community College. Throughout her life, she nurtured a deep appreciation for nature, finding joy in flowers and gardening, cooking, and traveling extensively with her husband throughout all 50 states. Her love for animals was well known among friends and family, and she was a cherished member of the Fayetteville Birthday Club, where she connected with many in her community.
She is survived by her daughters, Sheryl Garcia and her husband Joe of Rosenberg, and Dianna Tidwell of Houston. Carolyn's family legacy continues through her six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, who remember her affection and wisdom. Also surviving is her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, John and Connie Stanley of Fayetteville, as well as her devoted caretaker, Blanca Alvarez, and her family.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Alvin Stanley, and her parents, Joseph and Selma Fehrenkamp, along with her stepmother Regina Fehrenkamp. She was also predeceased by daughters Jerrie Allison Stanley and Linda Kay Kelm, son-in-law Charles Kelm, and her brother William Fehrenkamp.
A visitation to honor Carolyn will take place on April 18, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, followed by a Celebration of Life from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, both held at Fayette Memorial Funeral Home & Crematory, located at 967 E. Colorado Street, La Grange, Texas 78945.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or to Gardenia E Janssen Animal Shelter in La Grange, Texas.
