Carla Sue English

October 17, 1953 — June 7, 2025

Aspermont, Texas

Carla Sue Lambert English, 71, of Aspermont, Texas, passed away peacefully on the evening of Saturday, June 7, 2025, at MD Anderson Hospital in Houston, surrounded by her loving family.

Born on October 17, 1953, in Aspermont to Carlton and Sudie Lambert, Carla lived nearly her entire life in the town she loved, with only a brief time away while attending Texas Tech University with her best friend, Vickie English. She returned home after her father's passing to help run the family gas station-a reflection of her strong sense of responsibility and love for family that would define her life.

On April 17, 1979, Carla married Mike English in Aspermont, Texas. Together, they built a life rooted in family, love, and unwavering support for one another. Their partnership was a true example of devotion-steadfast through every joy, challenge, and season of life.

She began her medical career as an LVN, then a paramedic, and ultimately became a Registered Nurse. For many years, she served the community she grew up in through her work at Stonewall Memorial Hospital and Stonewall County EMS for over 30 years. Carla's dedication to her patients, her sharp clinical mind, and her tireless work ethic saved countless lives. She rarely missed a day of work, always putting the needs of others ahead of her own.

To describe Carla is to describe a rare and beautiful soul: selfless, courageous, tough, deeply loving, and truly one of a kind. Her strength and compassion touched everyone she met-whether in a moment of crisis, at a family gathering, or through a kind word on an ordinary day.

Carla also had a true gift for cooking. She loved preparing meals for her family, and her cooking was nothing short of amazing. Whether it was a holiday feast or a simple weeknight dinner or having her kids and their friends come home from school to eat lunch ... the warmth and care she put into her food made every meal special. Her home and home cooked meals made people feel loved just by being there.

Above all, Carla loved her family. They were her heart and her greatest joy. She is survived by her daughter Lesley Karonika and husband Mark, and their sons Carson and Caden; her son Michael English and wife Misty, and their children Gage, Grayson, and Coley; her brother Zolly Lambert; as well as several beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Carlton and Sudie; her second dad, Otto Frasier; sister-in-law, Vicki English; and her husband, Mike.

Carla's legacy lives on in the lives she touched, the family she cherished, and the community she served so faithfully. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
