Byron Wayne Compton

A memorial service for Byron Wayne Compton is scheduled for Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Fayette Memorial Funeral Home in La Grange.  The family will meet privately at 10:00 AM prior to the service. 

Byron Wayne Compton passed away October 8, 2022 in Austin, Texas.  He was born in Ft. Worth, Texas on July 31, 1955 to Byron Compton and Shirley Moore Compton.  He married Diane Strong on January 8, 1983 in North Richland Hills and they later had two children, daughter, Hailey and son, Bryon.

Byron was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He really enjoyed spending time with his granddaughters.  He liked taking them fishing, attending Harper’s ball games, teasing and doing artwork with Hope and watching Moana with Marlee in the recliner.  Lovingly known as “Big Guy”, Byron loved to fish and loved Whataburger.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

Byron is survived by his wife of 39 years, Diane Compton; one daughter, Hailey Hess and husband, Nathan of La Grange; one son, Bryon “BJ” Compton and wife, Christen of League City; brother, Larry Compton and wife, Suzy of North Richland Hills; sisters, Debbie Blevins and husband, Randy of Poolville, Melissa Muenzberg and husband, Larry of Granbury; brother-in-laws, Joe Strong, James Strong and wife, Carolyn; sister-in-law, Doris Strong; grandchildren, Harper and Hope Hess and Marlee Middleton along with numerous nieces and nephews. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Byron and Shirley Compton and sister, Susan Martin.
