Betty Jo Graf passed away on Monday June 15, 2009 in Austin, Texas. Betty, known by family and friends as Jo, was born on March 19, 1923 in Miami, Texas to Taswel and Rosa Blanche (Graham) Crowson. She was the youngest child of the family.
Following high school graduation, she moved to California, where she met and subsequently married her husband Marvin on February 2, 1943.
After Marvin served two years in the Navy, they moved to Houston where they resided and raised their family. Betty was employed as a secretary for Walgreens.
Upon retirement, they moved to Schulenburg, where they enjoyed their country home.
After the death of Marvin in 1993, Jo moved to LaGrange, where she lived until her death. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her son Donald.
Jo is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, James (Jim) and Leslie Graf of Houston; one grandson, Dustin Graf of Austin; and one sister, Judy McBride of La Grange.
Jo's bubbly personality endeared her to all she met.
Funeral services are scheduled for Thursday, June 18, 2009 at 1:00 p.m. from St. Paul Lutheran Church in La Grange, with the Rev. Sid Roden officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Oaks Cemetery in Houston.
