Bernard August Tomanec, Jr.

Bernard August Tomanec, Jr. a lifelong resident of La Grange, Texas passed away on February 5, 2023. He was born on November 24, 1950 to Bernard A. Tomanec, Sr. and Dolores (Krenek) Tomanec in La Grange, Texas. He was 72 years old.

Jr., as known by many, was a vivid storyteller that loved to share adventures of hunting and fishing. He was fortunate to have a side-by-side lifelong career with his dad starting at a young age as a gas station attendant, businessman with Ben Franklin 5 & 10 Store along with ranching until his retirement in 2018.

On June 28, 1970 he married the love of his life, Sandy Tiedt, and was later blessed with one daughter, Tracy (son-in-law Brett Hughett). Together they created a partnership that lasted 50 years with many life lessons. Within those life lessons came this: Life is short, Enjoy the ride, Raise your cup up high.

He is survived by his daughter Tracy and her husband, Brett Hughett. Along with his best companion, Soxy. Sister-in-Law: Kathy Tiedt, Brothers-in-Law: Ronnie Tiedt and Jeffery Tiedt all of La Grange, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his wife Sandy Tomanec, his parents, Bernard and Dolores Tomanec, Sr. Father-in-Law: Carlie Tiedt and Mother-in-Law: Ruby Kovar.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Gardenia Animal Shelter in La Grange, Texas or one’s charity of choice.  At this time, no funeral or memorial service is scheduled.
