Beatrice Jeanette Stoerner Rost (Dollie), was born December 5, 1934 in the Willow Springs area. She went to be with our Lord on September 24, 2023, age 88 years old.  Bea, or Dollie as many knew her, was preceded in death by her parents, Erwin and Esther Stoerner.  A brother, Travis, died a few weeks after birth. Her husband, Dan, went to heaven in 2005.  Good friend, Tom Vasek, went to heaven in 2022.

Bea and Dan were married in 1956 at St Paul Lutheran Church in La Grange.  They lived in Houston until 1979, when they moved back to La Grange.  One son, Jeffrey, was born in 1965.  Bea worked prior to the birth of Jeffrey at Southwestern Camera in downtown Houston and was very involved with camera equipment used by NASA and their early trips to space and moon landings.  After the birth of Jeffrey, she became a stay-at-home mom.

Bea loved plants, they were her favorite thing among all things. Bea also had many other hobbies.  Among them she was a great seamstress.  She sewed Jeff’s first set of camouflage hunting clothes.  She was passionate about genealogy.  Bea loved quilts and quilting and was involved with St Paul’s Monday Morning Quilters and Tacky Tuesday LWR Quilting Group.  She loved playing dominoes any time she could and was a member of numerous local domino groups.  She loved to travel.  Bea and Dan traveled often with her parents and Jeff and his wife Carolyn.  Travel was a thing early on in her life and her parents and aunt Frances and uncle Lloyd Lahrmann went to Colorado often.  Travel included Alaska, Mexico, Canada, Europe and China.  Germany and Czech Republic were visited a few times to see relatives there and for history research.

Bea is survived by her son Jeffrey and daughter-in-law Carolyn.   Cousin Russell Lahrmann and his wife Lisa and their son Luke, who she always looked forward to visits from and visiting during the holidays.

Special love and thanks to Phyllis Chavarria for all the care and love.  Hospice Austin and Hospice Brazos Valley always do amazing things. The staff and caregivers at Schulenburg Regency Nursing Home went out of their way and are extremely appreciated. Numerous other family members and friends always stayed in contact with Bea via email and phone calls and visits and Bea always enjoyed that.
