Amarie Deckert

Amarie Irene Deckert, 84, of La Grange, passed away on March 28, 2023. A memorial service for Amarie
is pending at this time.
 
Amarie was born in Hobart, Oklahoma on June 13, 1938 to Clarence and Ruth (Robertson) Bruce.  She
married Harley Deckert on April 17, 1965. They lived in El Campo, Texas.


In Amarie’s younger years, she enjoyed cooking, baking and was known for her German chocolate cakes
and coconut pies. She also enjoyed bowling and even won an automobile in a bowling tournament,
beating her own husband for the prize. Overall, Amarie was a kind and gentle person. She loved people
and enjoyed having visitors and visiting others. As a caretaker, she not only cared for those she worked
for, but also cooked, cleaned and loved them like family. Amarie loved everyone, but her family meant
the world to her. She loved her grandchildren dearly and had so much patience while playing games
with them or teaching them to bake. Amarie will be dearly missed by her family and friends.


Amarie is survived by her children, Deborah (John) Wolfe, Russell (Marie) Lewis, Pam (Clyde) Oliver,
Roger Lewis, Steven (Wendy) Lewis, Melissa Dee Wilson and Harley (Laura) Deckert, Jr.; grand kids: Jared
(Ronyn) Wolfe, Jeremy (Cari) Gibson, Rusty Lewis, David Oliver & Joshua Godfrey, Jake (Rhonda) Oliver,
Nicole (Elisha) Flores, Eric Lewis, Brady Lewis, Justin Lewis, Steven Lewis, Hollie Lewis, Mandy Babbini,
Katie (Aaron) Davis, Brandi (Jake) Stark, Jamie (Dylan) Delgado, Bobhe (Chelsea) Rhoades, Harlie (Travis)
Turner, Deven (Destiny) Deckert, Jerrid (Shelby) Moore; great grandchildren Jaryn Wolfe, Jayse Wolfe,

She is preceded in death by her husband, Harley Deckert; parents, Clarence, and Ruth Bruce; sisters,
Wanda Budas, Doris Temple, and Aline Woodruff; brother, Dean Williams; grandchildren, Drew Reedy,
Jason Wolfe, Justin Wolfe, and Cody Pettit.
