A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 20, 2025 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Fayetteville, Texas. Visitation will take place at the church prior to the service, 12:00 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. The burial will follow at the St. John Catholic Cemetery in Fayetteville.
Alice Marie Malota, 90 of Fayetteville, passed away on November 17, 2025 in Columbus. She was born on September 28, 1935 in Fayetteville to Emil and Albina (Janish) Kolenovsky. She married Leonard J. Malota, Sr. on November 17, 1954 and they later had six children, including two sets of twins.
Alice was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. She enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and quilting. Alice was a people person and often gave great advice to others. She was not only a great teacher and mentor, but also a voice of reason. Alice was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She really enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s sporting events. Alice was very loved and will be dearly missed by her family and friends.
Alice is survived by her children; Sharon (Joe) Martinek of Columbus, Larry (Cynthia) Malota of Bryan, Nancy (Edward) Gaertner, Leonard (Joan) Malota, Jr., and Ronald Malota all of Fayetteville; one brother and sister-in-law, Jerome (Charlene) Kolenovsky of Schulenburg; 12 grandchildren, Karissa, Jessica, Bryson, Andrew, Emily, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Wendy, Wesley, Bradley, Jared, and Trevor; 13 great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, her parents; son, Donald Malota (twin brother of Ronald); siblings, Lad Kolenovsky, Claudia Ogden, Annie Belota, Clara Susen, and Lillian Walla.
The family requests that memorial donations be made to the St. John Church Endowment Fund or the church cemetery endowment fund.
